Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 11, 2026
This policy applies to Bearoster, a macOS app developed by Bang Ni Wen Wen (Tianjin) E-Commerce Co., Ltd. ("we", "us").
Overview
Bearoster is a macOS contacts tool that runs entirely on your Mac, for organizing contacts and birthdays. Our most important principle is simple: we collect no data.
What We Collect
We collect nothing. Bearoster has no account system and does not require registration or sign-in. The app contains no third-party SDKs, analytics, or crash reporting. We do not receive, store, or otherwise process any of your personal information.
How Data Is Used
Because we collect no data, there is no use, analysis, or sharing of your data. Every change you make to contacts and tags happens only on your Mac.
Where Data Is Stored
All data stays on your device:
- Contact information always lives in macOS Contacts, managed by the system.
- Tags and local edit history maintained by Bearoster are stored in a local SQLite database inside the app's sandbox container (Application Support).
- Uninstalling the app removes these local files along with the container.
Third-Party Sharing
We do not share data with any third party, because the app sends nothing to any server.
Tracking
There is no tracking of any kind. The app uses no advertising, analytics, or cross-app tracking technology.
Permissions
Bearoster requests the following permissions only when you use the corresponding feature:
- Contacts (read & write): used to read and update contact birthdays and other contact information. You can revoke this anytime in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Contacts.
- Microphone & Speech Recognition: used only when you start the "voice input for dates" feature, to turn spoken birthday dates into dates. No audio is captured when you are not using it, and audio never leaves your Mac.
Children's Privacy
Bearoster is not designed for children under 13. Because we collect no data at all, we do not collect children's data either.
Your Rights and Control
- You can delete tags or records inside the app at any time.
- You can revoke Contacts or Microphone permissions in System Settings at any time.
- Contact data itself is managed by the macOS Contacts app, where you can view, edit, or delete it.
- To completely remove local data created by the app, quit and delete Bearoster.
Policy Changes
If we update this policy in the future, we will publish the new version on this page and update the effective date. Because we collect no data, no update to this policy will grant us rights to process your data.
