Edit contacts in bulk
Update names, companies, departments, job titles, phone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses, and birthdays for multiple contacts at once. Review who will be affected, then fill blank fields or replace existing values.
Bearoster lets you edit many contacts at once, organize them with tags, and drag them between groups. Changes stay in a local cache until you’ve reviewed them, so you can undo or roll back before saving to Contacts.
Whether you have dozens of contacts or hundreds, Bearoster helps you edit fields, apply tags, change groups, and roll back mistakes.

Use local tags to group clients, family, colleagues, or project contacts. Nest tags into a hierarchy, filter your list, or use them to choose contacts for a bulk edit.
Drag a contact from the list to an Apple Contacts group to change its group. Select several contacts first to move the whole group at once.
Edits are saved to a local cache first, along with a history of your actions. If something’s wrong, undo it or roll back. Save to Contacts only when the result looks right.
Bearoster keeps a local record between your edits and Contacts. Preview each change, check the result, and undo anything you don’t want before writing to the system address book.
Manage birthdays in Gregorian, Lunar, Hebrew, and Islamic calendars. Upcoming dates appear in the calendar and list, with a color for each calendar.
Bearoster doesn’t upload your contacts or collect usage data. The first time you open it, macOS asks you to grant Contacts access.
Bearoster is a native macOS app written in Swift, coming soon to the Mac App Store. Once it’s live, install and update it from the store. Until then, reach out if you need help.
No. Your edits go into a local cache and history first. Bearoster writes them to Contacts only after you confirm, and you can undo or roll back changes before then.
Bearoster uses Foundation’s Calendar API to convert non-Gregorian dates to their Gregorian date for the current year. It uses that date for sorting, reminders, and the calendar view.
Bearoster doesn’t manage syncing. If iCloud is enabled for Contacts, iCloud handles changes to your system contacts as usual. Bearoster handles the editing on your Mac.
The app needs permission to edit contacts in bulk, read groups, and save your changes. Without it, Bearoster can show only an empty state or content from its local cache.
The current version is free, with no subscription or in-app purchases. If paid features are added later, they’ll be clearly separated from the free version. Existing local features will remain available.
